Commisions
Requesting a commissioned artwork?
You can contact me through the contact page of my website www.charlotteharronart.com, to see if I am currently accepting commissions. Sometimes due to the number of requests, I’m unable to immediately accept more than what I’m currently working on.
-
Once I’ve confirmed that I’m accepting commissions, briefly write me an email telling me what you are looking for in terms of style, size, and any other relevant information. For abstract landscapes, please provide a colour photo of the image you would like me to paint. I’ll then organize a brief conference call for us to connect so that I can ask any further questions, and you can ask me as well! We will discuss your vision, expectations, timeline and costs and payment. This is your opportunity to tell me the story behind the image, colours you prefer and the mood of the piece that you would like me to aim for and also the time of day. Would you like a serene piece that is a sunrise or sunset? Are you looking for a pop of vibrancy and a dynamic landscape?
I will then work out a basic geometric design, which I use as a guideline to inform my design as I work on the canvas. Please note that the final piece will not look 100% like the first design, however if there is something that you like or dislike at the outset this is a good time to discuss this.
Before any painting begins you will need to deposit 50% of the cost of the project. I will use this initial fee to buy materials and begin painting.
If the canvas size you requested is not in stock, I will order the size that you’ve requested, which can take up to a week.
I will send you photos of the painting mid-way through and once more towards the end of the work. Then you can provide me with feedback (e.g. if you’d like to see more or less of something), however it will be up to my discretion in terms of the overall impact of the piece, in terms of how much is changed.
I will make up to two changes, and will send you photos after each request. Once the painting is completed, you send the remaining balance due on your invoice, then the painting will be packed and shipped to you.
-
This will depend on my schedule at the time of the order, as well as the size of the piece, plus any iterations. It is a case-by-case basis; however you can expect it to be anywhere between 4-8 weeks plus shipping time. This will also allow for curing of the paint and protective varnishing to take place.
-
I work hard to listen and understand what you are looking for, and what you have in mind for the final piece. It’s possible though the finished piece doesn’t match your vision. If this happens, 25% of the total invoice can be used towards purchasing any other painting available on my web site.

If the artwork is less than 48” (122 cm) in length, it will be wrapped in glycine (acid free paper) bubble wrapped and then packed in a commercial cardboard box.
Paintings with at least one side 48" (approx. 122 cm) or larger are normally removed from their stretcher bars and rolled up in a tube. You will be responsible for getting the canvas re-stretched when you receive it. If you have purchased a painting that needs to be stretched and you would like it shipped directly to a framer, please contact me at charlotteharron.art@gmail.com to make the arrangements.
If you prefer to have a large painting shipped already on stretcher bars, and it is above the 48” (122cm), you will bear the cost, and this will increase the shipping costs significantly.
You will always have the option to have your painting removed from their stretcher bars and rolled up in a tube for shipping.
Paintings are shipped by commercial carrier from Switzerland.

Shipping is paid separate to the cost of the artwork. Once the size of the artwork is confirmed, and before the piece is commissioned, I will provide you a cost of shipping based on the least expensive option, as well as an expedited service.
For all those pieces with a side less than 48” (approx. 122 cm), I will automatically assume you will want the piece delivered with stretcher bars, for those 48” (approx. 122 cm) and above I will automatically assume it will be rolled in a tube.
For paintings being shipped outside of the Switzerland, the cost of international shipping and customs will be paid by you. I will provide you with a cost of shipping based on the least expensive option. Usually ground transport – this will add on to the length of time before you receive it.
If you would like to arrange and pay for a more expedited shipping option, please contact me at charlotteharron.art@gmail.com

When I make shipping arrangements with the courier, I’ll arrange for you to receive an email notification informing you of your packages travel status. Upon delivery to the courier, I’ll contact you to let you know that the process has started and to provide you with a tracking number.
A signature is required upon receipt of your package, so please make sure someone is there for the delivery. If you are unable to have someone present at the time of the delivery, please contact the courier to make alternate arrangements, such as picking it up yourself, or having the courier company deliver it on another day.
