Stories & thoughts behind the artwork

Twilight is a magical threshold between night and day. Picture Rangitoto, an island near Auckland, New Zealand cradled by the sky, nestled in hues of yellow, green and pink.

The word ‘fiery’ evokes both the sunset’s intensity and the island’s volcanic origin.
