Stories & thoughts behind the artwork
This artwork was inspired by a trip to NZ that I took many years ago with my family. At the time it was a gorgeous sunset, however I thought it might be interesting to represent the landscape as if the viewer were on a platform overlooking the mountain ranges and Lake Wakatipu.
I chose greys and softer colours to almost represent the concept of being in between places, but also to help the eye focus outwards and upwards towards the different patterns and interlocking shapes the clouds and colours were making in the sky.
